Bangkok Prep places the needs of its students at the centre of its curriculum and offers a rich and stimulating learning environment. Key to the learning of the child at Bangkok Prep is the care and support they receive through our pastoral system. Each student is assigned to a tutor group which is led by a Form Tutor. This teacher is the first point of contact between the student, school and home, and is crucial in ensuring every student in our care achieves to the best of their ability.
We are continually reviewing our curriculum and offer a core curriculum supplemented by chosen or ‘option’ subjects as the students mature and gain independence. As we continue to grow the number of subjects we offer will increase, please check for up to date information. This element of choice recognises that all children are unique and have different needs.
The Secondary school consists of three key stages that are designed to develop our students with regards to their needs at different age groups.
Offers a broad curriculum that builds on the English National Curriculum adapted to embrace the rich culture and diversity of Thailand and South East Asia. Each subject is taught in depth by specialist teachers. Building a strong platform of skills and knowledge is key to the personal growth and development of all students.
Students follow a core curriculum but also choose three or four option subjects. Each course finishes with external IGCSE examinations run primarily by Cambridge International Examinations for which we are an accredited centre. Students take 8 to 10 IGCSEs depending on the needs of each student.
Students further specialise in their studies and take Advanced Level courses in 3 to 5 subjects. In addition to these courses students also follow a core curriculum of PSHE, Extended Project Qualification, Community Service and PE whilst support is given to ensure all students make well-informed and quality university applications.
Bangkok Prep has a warm and welcoming community that strives to value and nurture all its students. We are active and competitive members of FOBISIA, BISAC and TISAC, which offer an invaluable opportunity for our students to develop their talents with like-minded individuals across the region. We have a very successful House system and actively promote student leadership. Our school is thriving because of the willingness of our students to get involved and take up the opportunities offered to them by its excellent teachers.
