Message from Head of School – 28.08.2020

Friday 28th August 2020

Dear Parents and Students

I would like to thank you all for supporting the opening of our school for Term 1 of this academic year. When all students and staff are on campus, it reminds me of why I love my job! This week has been marvelously fulfilling and it enables us all to have a true sense of purpose. We have a very exciting year ahead of us and I am sure that the forthcoming high quality learning experiences will allow our students to continue to flourish!

Thailand remains one of the best countries in the world with regards to the successful management of the spread of the COVID- 19 pandemic. It is still really important that we ‘keep up our guard’. At school we continue to enforce the required preventative measures from the MoE and CCSA. I would like to reassure you that all of our new expat teachers, who have originated from different countries, have undergone rigorous quarantine procedures including social distancing measures and COVID tests before they left their embarkation country. They were all awarded the ‘Fit to fly’ certificate. When they landed in Thailand, they stayed in CCSA approved ASQ accommodation for a minimum of 15 days and have had two more COVID tests which show no trace of the virus. We welcome our new healthy and energetic teachers to Bangkok Prep.

Parking and Transport

As you are all aware traffic, parking and transport can be a huge challenge in Bangkok and parking spaces at our campuses are limited.

As an Eco School, we always fully recommend using public transport such as BTS, taxis and shuttle buses. Car sharing is also strongly encouraged. The location of both campuses is one of the many benefits of our school and a significant majority of students, staff and parents are able to walk to school.

Please see some helpful guidelines below which are designed to minimise congestion within our school campuses. If you choose to come to school in a car please follow these simple guidelines:

  • Please use the drop off areas and students should get ready to depart the vehicle, before arriving at the drop off area, in order to ensure this area flows smoothly.

  • Please do not double park as this can cause a serious safety issue for our students and also it inconveniences other drivers.

  • Families who have drivers are not permitted to use parking spaces. These spaces are allocated to parents who drive their children to and from school and require a parking space.

  • Please respectfully follow the instructions and advice of the Bangkok Prep Security Staff who are there to manage the car park area.  This will benefit all of the members of our community.

  • The Express Pick-Up Service is highly recommended for children at our Primary Campus for afternoon pick up.

  • Please visit the Firefly Transport page here for more details about transport, parking, express pick up, shuttle buses and other useful information.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and I can assure you that the congestion will ease once the ECAs begin in a few weeks.

World Class Student Academic News

I would like to congratulate all our students on exceeding the academic momentum that we achieved last year at IGCSE and A Level (A2) and also to congratulate those students who achieved the highest grades. Last year students set some very high standards indeed and we are delighted to announce this year’s record breaking academic results at Bangkok Prep.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the 2019 – 2020 Bangkok Prep Year 13 students ‘bon voyage’ as they launch into university life in destinations all over the world. I would also like to thank the teaching staff in school who worked extremely hard with the students to ensure that they achieved their full potential.

The FOBP are a very important part of our school community and their role is vital in the smooth operation of Bangkok Prep. Please actively support the FOBP events that are planned for this academic year. I invite you all to use this QR code to join FOBP Official Line Account.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Warm regards
