Letter from the Head of Primary – 28 April 2017

By Head of Primary Duncan Stonehouse

Welcome back after the Songkran holiday break and I trust you have all found some time to rest and relax.

We have now begun our final academic term of the year and there are many exciting learning opportunities planned for the coming months. Please continue to support your children’s learning at home and communicate with staff if you have any questions, ideas or feedback.

If you were able to attend the TISAC Choral Festival at St Andrews 71 on Thursday 27 April, then I am sure that you will agree it was a fantastic event. A group of Key Stage 2 Bangkok Prep children joined children from ten other schools and took part in vocal workshops which resulted in an amazing afternoon performance.

The quality of the performance was incredible considering the children had only been together for a few hours. It was an excellent example of community collaboration and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Music Staff that made this event a great success.

On Thursday, I had the honour of witnessing the Reception and Year 1 Messy Play Day.  The children (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed playing with mud, water, sand and foam. Not being afraid of getting messy during activities is an essential aspect of learning.

Thank you for your continuing support.

The Value of the Month for May is Community Minded – Please talk to your child about why a sense of community is very important. Also explain why being polite and having good manners defines us as individuals.

Have a restful weekend.
